About Me

Creative Art Psychotherapy is founded by​​ Dimienne Wilson-Chew, a HCPC registered Art Psychotherapist and member of the British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT). Dimienne has decades of experience supporting adults and children in early-years, primary, secondary education, social care and various community settings.

Specialist clinical areas of interest include adults and children with Autism, ADHD, Learning Disabilities, Neurological Disorders and comorbidites including Eating Disorders, Depression and Anxiety Disorders.

Dimienne is a proud neurodivergent art psychotherapist, specialising in the field of neurodiversity with lived experience in mental health.

Creative Art Psychotherapy formally adopts a neuro-affirmative, person-centred approach to art psychotherapy treatment, offering Makaton and Picture Exchange Communication Systems (PECS) visual aids.
​
Dimienne holds an MA in Art Therapy with distinction from the University of Chester, a first-class honours BA (Hons) in Arts and Humanities from the Open University and second-class honours BA Religious and Educational Studies from the Cumbria University.​​
